An 18ct yellow gold pendant featuring a six ray star ruby. 
The ruby is pink and luscious and has a lot of character. When the light touches the surface of the ruby a light display is formed creatinf the most wonderful star display.
Asterism is the refraction/reflection of light upon a cabochon pendant which creates Asteria (star stone). For star gemstones to occur rutile (impurities) must be present in order for the star design to be formed. Not all gemstones can be cut in this way, they must acquire the characteristics needed.
