A Georgian 18ct gold faceted citrine stone surrounded by a rare Ouroboros snake.

"It is an ancient symbol of a snake eating its own tail. It's often interpreted as a symbol for cyclic renewal – beginnings meeting endings. Quite literally, it symbolises an entity devouring itself and disappearing in the process. A circular symbol depicting a snake, or less commonly a dragon, swallowing its tail, as an emblem of wholeness or infinity."

The snake wraps around the face of the citrine stone with its head, just visible at the top as shown. The citrine is beautiful and orange - yellow, the ring is typical of Georgian designs (1714 to 1837).
